nice to see.. *claps*..

but still a bit unimpressive all the same. Glad to see AMD stepping up a bit, but for Dry Ice, i would have to say *meh*.. 6ghz might actually do something for me. If it can only hit 5 from 3, than is 4ghz hard to achieve on air, with a good chunk of c0pper and aluminum on the cpu and a good flowing case?..

regardless, if the price is right, i might build my first AMD rig since the K6

SWEET! If they OC that well on an AM2+ mobo then I won't have to get a new Mobo when they come out. I was worried that you would have to get an AM3 Mobo to make it work to it's full potential. While I'm on the subject aren't enough enthusiast AMD NB Mobos. Most go with the Intel NB or the Nvidia NB. Show the AMD NB some love Asus! Give me a reason to get a new mobo next generation!

I get called a fanboy because I tell the truth..on OCN...go figure.

People are praising them for hitting high GHz under DRY ICE. Thats like saying my car wouldn't be faster using jet fuel. You bet your ass it would be...but I don't think my engine would live past a couple miles.

I see all sorts of "Way to go AMD..." or "Yeah AMD back in the game..." There wasn't and hasn't been a SINGLE benchmark on their quad. How the hell do you know it is this "I7 killer.." when they themselves say its meant to go up against aging quads. Some of you are either ignorant to facts or blind. Go ahead, call me a fanboy because I call it like it is AND provide facts. It only shows how ignorant you are.

I WOULD LOOOOOOOVE FOR AMD TO HAVE A HELL OF A QUAD, if anything it would force Intel to lower their prices a little, but given their track record the last couple years I am not betting on it.

Remember, before you call me a fanboy for pointing out hard facts, come back with something that even makes sense. Not, "You are the biggest fanboy ever...". That only solidifies my statements.
Just to prove how ignorant you are, your car won't run on jet fuel. Aviation fuel maybe but not for long. JP5 and standard Aviation Fuel are 2 different things. JP5 isn't even petrol based.

No, it's impossible. They're hardly even the same species.

JP5 is a mix mash of chemicals. Aviation fuel is really just high octane gasoline essentially.

Did I miss the memo? Pentium 4s were overclocking to 6Ghz on dry ice. Almost ANY chip can be super overclocked when they are super cooled.
Can you OC my Pentium 3 @ 866MHz to 6GHz if I give you some liquid nitrogen?

Also, since any chip can be OCed to 6GHz with super high cooling... wanna OC my graphing calculator... got some dry ice for ya!

You gotta remember that Pentium4s had a relentlessly deep pipeline (Phenoms - AFAIK 12 stages, Prescott P4/Pentium D - 32 stages) and hence had extremely sucky clock-for-clock performance when compared to Phenoms. Those Phenoms can likely beat 6GHz P4s at stock speeds, so...
