I have to disagree. Perhaps we just have a different opinion on what real-world is. To me, it means what I can overclock the chip to using conventional methods (no LN2 and dry ice is NOT conventional) of cooling and voltages that are safe in the long term. Until I see someone with an LN2 rig, stratospheric voltages and all, playing a couple levels of Crysis while eating a bag of Doritos, I'm saying this is suicide run/benchmark rig/experimental only. In the general sense I don't really care who has the superior product. I do care who has best combination of a good performing product (in my Cooler Master case and it's 120mm CPU cooler) and best value.

$35 for a dual core at 2GHZ. AMD motherboards are also more for less cash. Excellent option for HTCP and general non-gaming purposes. Hell, that CPU is even good for gaming. Catch is you will need a heat sink. If you have a spare around there amazing deal.

![]() People are praising them for hitting high GHz under DRY ICE. Thats like saying my car wouldn't be faster using jet fuel. You bet your ass it would be...but I don't think my engine would live past a couple miles. I see all sorts of "Way to go AMD..." or "Yeah AMD back in the game..." There wasn't and hasn't been a SINGLE benchmark on their quad. How the hell do you know it is this "I7 killer.." when they themselves say its meant to go up against aging quads. Some of you are either ignorant to facts or blind. Go ahead, call me a fanboy because I call it like it is AND provide facts. It only shows how ignorant you are.I WOULD LOOOOOOOVE FOR AMD TO HAVE A HELL OF A QUAD, if anything it would force Intel to lower their prices a little, but given their track record the last couple years I am not betting on it. Remember, before you call me a fanboy for pointing out hard facts, come back with something that even makes sense. Not, "You are the biggest fanboy ever...". That only solidifies my statements.

So if AMD releases a quad 10-15% slower than than intel's top end quads, for 30-40% lower price, that wouldn't cause Intel to drop prices? Need I say 4870 and 280GTX?
