AMD is a lot more confident about these new chips. Looks like the 45nm process was desperately needed.

If those cpuz validations prove true then I will prob go Phenom 2 this time around. I want a 3gig stock quad without having to break the bank to get one. I do not see the Q9650 dropping anytime soon, which is what I was waiting for to upgrade to quad core.

how much is the phenom II going to cost? and do you need DDR3 for it ? or can you use ddr2?

Sounds extremely promising, but I still think Core i7 will ultimately shine over Phenom II, due to it's incorporation of triple-channel memory, 8 processing threads, and large(er) cache size. Just not enough benchmarks out right now to really conclude anything though. We'll see . Price-wise though, yeah, I think Phenom II will no doubt topple Nehalem in sells. Just can't go wrong with AMD's pricing scheme, compared to Intel's.

Also, lol @ the 3Dm06 score. 35,000 marks with a single video card.
35k is not impressive cause it was for 3dmark05... I can get that at 4.6 and 1 gtx 280.

btw it is good news thought cause intel is gonna be forced to step up to something new faster good news for me cause I want some new toys
