But would an Atom be able to play HD media, and is this 12" monitor enough to display it? Not with Intel's onboard graphics, so I don't think that is a viable reason.

You'd think they would put the 1.6 or 1.8GHz processor in there with 1GB of RAM at least if they're gonna load it out with a 512GB SSD

Sounds like it's basically an external hard drive with a screen. I mean, it can run programs and stuff, but that's not really it's purpose by the looks of it.

Depends on the resolution of the screen.... and if they will be using the Poulsbo or Ion chipset.
