That would be nickel plating that makes everything pretty and it offers no performance gain. Actually it causes slightly (hence that) worse performance.

Also, the heatpipes are copper. It's the light making them look weird.

Ok i own the Rev 1 and it is shocking...Its worse than the freezer 7 pro which I also owned...the mounting system is SO flawed its disgrasful...Its just absolutely shocking....I hated it and I remeber some other members on here who had it disliked it as well...IMHO opinion go for the AC 7 freezer pro if you need a cheap solution, otehrwise get a xiggy or a TRUE/noctua...

looks very similar to the Scythe Mugen 2, same alluminum brick with similar heatpipe placement. Except this allows a center mounted fan. I think i remember reading some of the V1 reviews and it did pretty badly but i cant seem to find the review.

Agreed, the freezer 64 pro did fantastic things for my x2. Which was the heat generation of chips it was designed for.

Are you serious?

I have a Freezer Xtreme rev 1 and it's one of the best air coolers for the money I have ever owned. The retention mechanism is not the greatest, but it holds more securely than the standard pushpins and is easier to install than a backplate.

The AC Freezer Xtreme is a better cooler than the Xigmatek HDT-S1283.

And yes, I own both.

I really don't see the need for plastic decals on a cpu cooler.

They aren't just decorative.

It's a fan shroud and attachment point, as well as reinforcement and structural support.

Remove it and the stock fan would have no were to mount, cooling would be worse, and the heatsink would be significantly more fragile.
