Default [Crunch Gear] Samsung shows off SSD RAID

Samsung shows off face-melting speed of SSD RAID

So we all know that SSD drives are fast, but how do those numbers translate into the real world? And what would happen if you had unlimited funds and wanted to build a 24-unit SSD RAID array to see exactly what they can do?

Samsung did exactly that, and came up with some astounding numbers:

* Microsoft Office opens in 0.5 seconds.
* 53 programs take 18 seconds to start
* Entire system can be defragged in about 3 seconds

Now of course, the price to build something like this is prohibitive, but the important thing is that Samsung has proven that it’s possible, and pretty damn cool if you can set it. Bye-bye mechanical drives.
System Specs From Video:

So nedless to say i am pretty mad as intel is jipping my friend of his nanometers, so now his cpu will not be as good as my q6600, which is bad. Intel used to give people like a whole 130 nanometers but lately they are being very stingy and are not giving us their nanometers so our cpu's are not as good.
