That doesn't mean it doesn't exceed Intel's limits when the XMP is enabled. Mine certainly do.

DDR2 CL5 at 1200 is roughly the same speed as DDR3 CL7 at 1700+. To get better than that DDR2 setting you need something like these DDR3 CL7 at 2000. Anything under 1600 DDR3 CL7 and those DDR2 settings own it for speed. Bandwidth wise DDR3 will always win though.

I find that hard to believe since DDR2 at that speed is 2T and DDR3 is 1T.
