+1 for Slappa, great article

When OC'ing I get that BSOD constantly so I kept trying to up the voltages but it turns it its the memory. On my next AM3 build I'll be sure to get some good OCing memory and not the bargain stuff. Hopefully the new chipsets (RD890) and memory will let me get to that golden 4.0 mark.

Thanks man.

Yep, the only way to go on AM3 is to get top quality memory that you know can handle the clocks+timings.

The secret to AM3 overclocking is a stable NB, which requires stable top notch ram.

I can get stable at 3.8GHz on my cooler. Horrible temps, but I'd imagine under water 4.0GHz is easily attainable. 3.9GHz and above is out of the question on air, on my chip.

My chip can't seem to get past 3.7GHz, so be happy, lol. Need a new GPU though, this 4870 kills my temps or I need to get a kit to change the mounting for this Xigmatek!

nice slappa

i am at 3.9ghz at 1.44v

slappa you need to recommend good air cooling as i am a noob in that area, and i am not interested in water cooling as air overclocking is more impressive
