I found an image of one of Gigabyte's P55 boards:

http://www.tweaktown.com/popImg.php?...x58p55cmp2.jpg

If you look closer on the sticker it does says P55, and this board has 6 DDR3 slots. I thought P55 boards support dual channel, not tri. Am I missing something?

Im really excited how these boards would stack up to the x58's. The direct qpi to cpu grows endearing to me the more I look at it. I mean no more middle man (chipset), and its great when you got some bandwidth hungry uber ATi or Nvidia Cards. Its like when you free up the memory controller from the chipset and slap it on the cpu die, having cpu direct access to memory. It seems this direct qpi to the gpu is gonna be showing some serious badarse performance.

But alas I think this is where the Larabee is going to be really positioned as a co processor aside from it being a GPU, just a guess.

Maybe 3 DIMMs on each channel?
