So, could a single 64bit application actually utilize the 4gb, or is this still limited to 1/2 of it? Kinda confused, b/c that previous article says that it is actually 2 pcb's, while this latest pic and some ppl here seem to indicate that it is a single board.

Some of you are confusing a few things here. There are three different types of GTX295's:

1. Standard NVIDIA GeForce GTX295:
This card is two GTX275 PCBs SLIed together. It is the typical reference GTX295 that was released by NVIDIA.

2. Single PCB NVIDIA GeForce GTX295:
This card is two GTX275 GPUs on one PCB. It is a modified GTX295 that was recently released by NVIDIA and has yet to come out on the market.

3. ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX295:
This card is two GTX285 PCBs SLIed together. It is a special edition card designed by ASUS and approved by NVIDIA. It is a very recent card and has yet to be released on the market. This is the card this article is talking about.

I hope that clears a few things up for some people.

I thought I read nvidia tried to stop ASUS from doing this? But the rest of the explanation is right on the money.

Really the only difference, but hardcore poeple would prefer 2 x 512 bit interface =)

This looks pretty nifty, Have no idea what sort of Temp's this thing would have, I wouldnt expect it to run Cool though, and I shutter to think of how easy it could Artifact.
Also, the larger memory interface on this card means 4GB or ram, rather than 1792MB (or 3584MB if this was 448-bit).

I want to see a card with two single-pcb GTX295s. Of course, that would be insanely difficult to cool, require a ton of power, and would probably not scale well at all. But think of the protein folding insanity it would be capable of.
