You can play movies and scroll through PDFs directly from the icon.
A new magnifier can blow up your thumbnails within Finder.
Full History search allows you to Cover Flow through all your browsing history.
Holy new Quicktime is gorgeous, frameless, and has iMovie like thumbs:
Exchange support is now built into Mail, iCal and Address book
iCal shows both iCal calendars and exchange calendars. The Address Book also allows searching within Exchange and supports Exchange contact folders (it also merges both).
How should we price Snow Leopard? We won’t price it at $129, because we want all Leopard users to upgrade. SO we are pricing Snow Leopard at the incredible price of $29.
Landscape keyboard works in email, notes, and messages. [iphone]
AT&T will be ready to support MMS later this summer
Spotlight coming, too. It allows you to search across your phone, apps included.
iTunes to allow rental and purchase of movies from the iPhone.
Tethering allows you to share you iPhone internet connection with a PC. This works on Macs or PCs, over USB or Bluetooth. It’s a “seamless experience” with no need to run apps.
Find My iPhone is a “service” that’s available to MobileMe customers.
Through mobileme, any web browser will show you, on a map, where your phone is.
You can message your iPhone, alerting it “whether or not you left it in silent mode.”
You can also send it a remote wipe command (previously not available to everybody) and will erase all your data and keep your private data private.
Google maps can go into any app.
iPhone 3GS. S stands for speed.
No front-facing video camera. The insides are entirely new, but the outside appears the same.
The phone’s back is still glossy, apparently.
We see that same SunSpider JavaScript graph from earlier. iPhone 2.0 126 seconds. 3G 43 seconds. 3GS 15 seconds.
New features include a new camera.
The 3GS now supports OpenGL|ES. It also supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA.
The new 3GS includes a 3MP autofocus camera.
Autofocus brings in Auto Macro as well, as close as 10cm away.
Low light sensitivity is also improved.
It also captures video. 30FPS VGA with auto focus, auto white balance and auto exposure. You can share the video right from your iPhone 3GS to YouTube, MobileMe, MMS, and email.
With the iPhone 3GS, you hold down the home button for a second and a voice control interface is brought up. Simply say things like "Call Scott Forstall" -- if there are more than one entries, it will ask which one you wanted (i.e. home, office, etc) -- or "play The Killers"
Also -- a digital compass. It shows your orientation, longitude and latitude, and can link right to Google maps – which will orient to the way you are facing.
Improved battery life. Now up to 9 hours of internet surfing, 10 hours of video, 30 hours of audio, 12 hours of 2g talk-time, 5 hours of 3g talk-time.
$199 is 16GB version, $299 is 32GB version.
The iPhone 3G 8GB will be available for $99 today.
The iPhone 3GS is available June 19th.

I can't wait. I am hoping the Touch 3 or iPhone 3 is shown. I wouldn't mind upgrading from last years model, to this years model.

To be clear. When I say upgrade, I imply that I would sell my iPod Touch for as much as I can get... then put whatever extra is needed to get the new device. Surprisingly, the difference in cost can be as little as $50 if you know what you're doing.

I have had OS 3.0 on my iPhone for the past 2 months and love it!! I really hope that AT&T hit the switch soon for MMS!!

I've edited my previous post. You wouldn't pay $200 to upgrade it. You would sell the old one, and replace it with a new one. Especially in the case of a iPod Touch... you can sell it close to retail around launch, purchase the new model, and it will likely cost you ~$50 total.

I do this with tech all the time, and it works great. More details in my edited post above.

With an iPhone, you would only be able to effectively upgrade every 2 years, due to contractual agreements. However, the basic scheme can still apply if you are good with selling online.
