This reminds me of HHD (Hybrid hard drives) due to the way the diagram depicts this hard drive working. It also makes me think of a moving SSD, only the data moves, not the R/W heads. If all of those number are true, and if this is affordable, I cannot wait to own one.

Do you mean what happens when the drive is out of completely new cells? Two things...
1) there's the TRIM command that will help.
2) Even a slow SDD will still be faster than a HDD.

In reality, no.

Hybrid Hard Drive were just suppose to use a large Flash buffer. Samsung was pushing them for Vista but it never panned out. SSD came to market and eliminated their benefits. That or they realized that removable flash buffers was possible.

hmmmm hopefully this is our new HDD,except its a HRD,and HRDs and SSDs KICK OUT HDDs so it can be only SSDs and HRDs,and IDE goes to tech hell.

i think they shouldve used a few gigs of DDR2 as buffer instead... id have gotten one.
