Wait, what, really? Seems "fake" to you? You do know, that, ummm, well, it IS fake, right? The whole thing? Computer generated graphics as they say?

Anyway, I am tenatively excited about DX11. If the performance is there and price isn't too bad I'm thinking about picking up one of ATI's new DX11 cards this fall.

So...

What if you have a 8Series, a 9Series or a GTX-200 Series? Will have to buy new graphic cards for DX11?

Nice one Nvidia. Hope anyone tells me the answer is "no".

Nvidia doesn't even support DX 10.1, you will need new cards for that as well. When they decide to make a DX 10.1 card that is.......

I saw that picture a long time ago.

But this

Is sick. But even then, I dont think you need DX11 for that.

Why is everyone is a tussle about PICTURES rendered using DX11....

It didn't say how long it took to render the pictures, and i'm pretty sure many newer CG effects from Film studios look that good already.

The platform sounds like a significant step for video rendering but keep in mind that all of the effects start with "allows" so the new features will only be adopted should the developer choose to do so.

Finally a DirectX version that isn't purposely nerfed because nVidia can't keep pace with ATI...

I was going to post something in the lines of this.

You have to remember that EVERYTHING is possible to render, even with DX9, it just takes longer. I still don't get why people are in awe over some random pictures being posted.

Because we assume said picture is rendered in 'real time', aka 17ms or less.
