Razer released it's new headphones. Razer fans might like this but all audiophiles and people who actually give a damn about sound quality know this is another gimmick, "7.1", built in audio engine, USB. Yep another Razer Fail product that can't compete w/ a $50 set of cans from Sen or AT.

Looks nice. I find it hard to believe you can get 7.1 positional audio from such close-together drivers.

If the price is right these might be fun, but ill take my senn595s any day.

Please don't go assuming without trying. Usually, they're bad, but going as far as not even giving it a thought it just lame.

I just got Barracuda for $54, should I return it and get Megalodon.
BTW Barracuda only give me 5.1 sound, even though my sound card says
it supports 7.1 and 5.1, despite the fact that barracuda is advertised as 7.1,
Even when I put my system on 7.1 I can't hear side speakers even only when EAX is enabled.

Also I wonder if it has plugs that plug into your audio card, or is it USB - based?

it only makes sense, they are following a pattern: 5.1 headset-Barracuda -> 7.1 headset-Megalodon. both fish per say, and the 7.1/Megalodon is greater. now why they would base their product names on water creatures, is the question..

they do look neat however..
