Honest question, don't flame me please!
I honestly saw a huge difference on my last build. The Enigma 0011 project Cold War.

I installed a 500 gig 32 mb drive and the boot time is very noticable. I don't know every aspect of the Specs on this drive but the difference in boot time it is very noticable.. VERY. Plus this one also has dual cores that are working in tadem. Almost like a Raid 0 inside one drive.

BS.

The difference you probably saw was due to the new hard drive with increase data density, better firmware, and platter count.

There's still only one head per platter. Each head is still locked to all other head. This is NOT at all like RAID at all.

Cache is useful when you have multiple independent requests... like in a webserver, not a single user desktop.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular (8) Sequential does not matter as much as random for OS drives

For 300$ wouldn't a raid 0 of 3 1TB Caviar Blacks or Seagate 7200.12s obliterate this thing?

Why? SATA is better than USB for hard drives due to less overhead, dedicated interconnect, and more features.

I also found it interesting that most spindle driven hdds do not use the total 3.gbs that sata 2 offers. Usually only half or less.
