Sounds awesome, my brother has a bad habit of keeping the monitor on. I, on the other hand, have a habit of turning them off when I am not using them.

Might be odd for movie watchers who go sit on their bed or something to watch movies.

Cool, but how do they tell a chair from a person? I'm guessing by motion sensor but that means you got to keep moving to keep the monitor lit.
Good start to a good idea.

"The sensor is also configurable for a range between 30 cm and 120 cm and works independent of external systems software or OS." - Yeah.
Hopefully, you can turn it off as well.

Or you could just put a mannequin in your chair while you use the bathroom.

Stupid. Monitors use a minuscule amount of power as it is. This thing will save you a watt per day if you're lucky, so in three years, you'll have saved about 11 cents on power (1 kwh).
