Just how anything below AU$150 from ASUS looks like they used puke instead of silicon?

The only non-sexy bit the the P55 is the second PCIe slot, the RAM slots on the other two get filled anyway and I'll be damned if a single IDE header ruins the entire look of the board for you.

The one closest to the CPU is for the PCH, and the one in the old SB position is for the SATA controllers - they run damn hot.

certainly similar, but a necessary adaptation. Turbo memory is non volatile like a hard drive, and does have the random access time of RAM, but IIRC it's still not as fast (sequentially) as a HDD. The small SSD's that will go into an ONFI slot can be ~200MB/s.
