no... the Lynnfields have the PCIe controller on the CPU, so adding an NF200 chip is useless.

WTH is with the PCB though. Almost as disgusting as that yellow P55 they showed before... and the power phases are half as many as some of the competition.

SATA port placement is lame, tiny PCH heatsink and generally bad board design.

gg asus, Gigabyte ftw.

If you're only using 1 card you still get 8x. There are 8 lanes that go completely unused.

Its a massive fail on Asus for not giving the first PCIe 16 lanes, even if it switches to 8x when there is a card in the second one.

As far as I'm concerned this board is completely useless and will drop a good 5-10% off performance with higher end video cards. For a motherboard that is a huge blow especially for a high end board like this will apparently be.

^that also makes 4870X2's and GTX 295's incompatible, not to mention the next gen DX 11 cards that will go along with this.

Very ugly looking board. Needs sexier heatsinks too imo.

You could add one to have 3 16x PCIe lanes, I think.

But there would be no point because all that lovely bandwidth would be going through a slow DMA interface to the CPU. The only way to actually get more bandwidth is to have more lanes on the CPU PCIe controller.

Nah, it routes it, like a network switch.
