I got a X-FI Champion series, and I have to say, I really can't tell the difference between having a soundcard and just using onboard. Then again, I was using vista at the time, and I head that Vista doesn't do well with soundcards, or it doesn;t need one because of the way it processes sound.

I did get another 1-2 FPS in a couple of games.

If your speakers are crap and.or your MP3s use a low bitrate then the difference will be minimal, at best.

Besides, Creative sound cards don't have the greatest sound quality anyway.

Only the X-FI chips support up to 5.0 if irc

Depending on the build quality this could be a good cheap starting point for high end systems(once you put in some good opamps)

That's not entirely true. With certain drivers, Audigy 2 Zs cards can do all the "special" stuff that most X-Fi cards can do.

Because the card in my sig rig (X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion) is actually just a re-bagged Audigy 2 card.

Can someone tell me if they fixed the problem with the SLI setups and PCI-E sound cards? All of the ones I have tried have problems when playing games while using SLI.

EDIT: Problem being sound cutting in out, popping, and making other noises besides the in game sound.

That's so not true. The XtremeAudio is the only one that is rebadged. The other X-Fi cards are brand new hardware.

Look at the specs on the X-fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion & Audigy 2 Zs Platinum.
