Hmm. Hopefully DirectX11 allows for that 25% boost in games that we've been hearing about. I'm not too excited, I think it will be the next DX10 (Not that there's anything wrong with 10, I'm just saying that I doubt there will be any huge improvements.)

Now, the question is "how is DAAMIT going to get game devs to write in support for features that Nvidia doesn't have, like hardware tessellation?" For instance DAAMIT has had a SDK for DX9 tessellation out for months now, and haven't heard of any big name takers? For that matter any DX9 game with modd tools should be able to be retrofitted right? They have even added support to their Opengl libraries.

Looks like their disigns are coming along well and by the comment "this is neither a high end or low end card" we can assume they already have a line up planned. If TSMC yields have improved and/or they can rely on 40nm global foundry nodes they should very well have their products out to market on schedule. The specs are still a secret though, which is interesting. No word yet on even if they plan on adding more processing units or just shrinking their current GPU's down to a 40nm die.
I don't think Nvidia is going to be able to match the time of their release. Nvidia is not one who keeps quite about their stuff from past experience. If they had something planned, they would let us know.

I'm not so sure I'm gonna be picking up a new card this Christmas...After all, any card out right now that supports DX10 can run DX11 (albeit no Shader Model 5.0 support, but really, how many developers are going to start coding games with SM5.0 when only a very small majority of the gaming population will have SM5.0-capable vid cards?)

Nvidia has a promising GTX 300 line up coming early 2010, but nothing planned for this year, certainly not by October. That is what I meant.

I just want to know the official specs of ATI/AMD's next generation cards. The 4800's impressed me and I have high hopes for this. Hopefully this will drive down NVIDIA's prices down when they release their GT300 like back then when GT200 was released.
