Wow... double the flops? I want to fold on this thing!

Am I the only one kind of dissapointed?

Well considering an X2 version of this card should pull around 50-60fps.

Nvm. I shall stand back and wait for more benchies

ok so the 5870 seems faster than a 4870x2. Very nice

Don't Tri-4890s get 50 avg. with 8xAA? I think that's what I saw in the Tri thread, which means this single card is a beast, even though it's not exactly apples-apples.

Agreed. Can you imagine running 2 of these monsters?

Seems like ATI made a 2x 4850 cores into 1x and called a 5870...great results on the bench run...and no..folding would still be somewhat of a let down.... this thing would be in the ballpark of ~7.5k PPD by looking at the figures, its basically a heavy OC'd Xfire setup of 4850's in single GPU form.

A 4850 X2 can't do those numbers lol.
Try a 4890 X2.

Down play all you want, this card is a beast.

No it has the same specs of the 4870x2 on a single card. 3 of these pups= 3x 4870x2 in Hexfire. If that were possible.

Just interesting that I haven't seen any nvidia Threads out... very not like them.

You want a screen shot or what?Heres one of my Xfire setup... Pixel fill rates and
texture fillrates are slightly above 2x 4890's...using my 4850's

Attachment 122795

So, I guess, if you guys are talking stock form for the 4870/4980..you would not be incorrect either...just not thinking straight I guess..I mean who runs *stock*

but think about this.. he is getting 43 average. on a 24" monitor with 1900 x 1200. i have a 24" lcd and i run sli 260s and i dont even play on my native res.

the fact that he is using that high of a resolution, AND 4xAA and 16xAF and still getting 43 fps is pretty solid.. that means on a 22inch lcd your going to get around 60fps or so, and with no AA it will be even faster.

i want a 5870x2... uhhhhh

Would someone be so kind to tell me what is this VS the 9800gtx+ in SLI. 1 and a half times the performance.

BTW, i play on medium. So it doesnt make sense to me how to play on v high with AA.

Really? Your two 9800GTX+ in SLI is comparable to my single GTX 275, I get 30+fps avg at 1680x1050 on Very high settings with my rig...

At very high settings, 1920x1200 I get About 24fps average, so this card is roughly 2x more powerful than a GTX275 or a 4890. And it's running 4xAA.
