The thought of running Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware is rather appealing. I think the prices of the Mac OS would increase drastically should this, in the end, be legal.

I'd much rather pay a similar price for the Mac OS as I would for a Windows OS than I would having to buy a whole other computer.

![]() You do realize that hackintoshes can use a custom EFI , so this is no problem.

Weeks? Mac programmers aren't THAT slow. I'd say 3 or 4 days.

Yeah I laughed at that too.
You know what? GRUB configures itself "automagically" as well.

Indeed. Apple are retardedly stupid. The moment they decided to go x86, this was gonna smack them in the face. Instead of riding the wave and taking full advantage, they try to suppress it.
__________________The days of proprietary software/hardware stacks are long dead in the PC space. Amiga, Atari ST, SGI Indy etc etc - they've all bitten the dust. Commoditisation is the law of the jungle now, although x86 is in fact proprietary. The one that truly isn't is SPARC - I'm surprised it never took off, but there you go. Apple need to realise it's not 1995 any more.
