The thought of running Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware is rather appealing. I think the prices of the Mac OS would increase drastically should this, in the end, be legal.

Regardless, it'd still be cheaper than having to go out and buy a whole computer.

I'd much rather pay a similar price for the Mac OS as I would for a Windows OS than I would having to buy a whole other computer.

Again the perks of getting a Apple Genius certification is you know everything behind the operation of OSX and all the neat secret tech that apple has from insider sources Again, Mac OSX will be identified by a unique serial number starting next year in all mac osx copies sold boxed and pre-loaded on machines. Apple can read hardware codes that tells them if the machine running that OSX copy is on licensed Apple Hardware and assembled machines. So all you hacintoshers, better ****. Because apple can next year with updates and new copies and machines tell if your OSX copy is runing legit. SO HA.
when this "drm" comes out, I'll give it a couple of weeks before its cracked by hackers.

You do realize that hackintoshes can use a custom EFI , so this is no problem.

Weeks? Mac programmers aren't THAT slow. I'd say 3 or 4 days.

Indeed. Apple are retardedly stupid. The moment they decided to go x86, this was gonna smack them in the face. Instead of riding the wave and taking full advantage, they try to suppress it.

The days of proprietary software/hardware stacks are long dead in the PC space. Amiga, Atari ST, SGI Indy etc etc - they've all bitten the dust. Commoditisation is the law of the jungle now, although x86 is in fact proprietary. The one that truly isn't is SPARC - I'm surprised it never took off, but there you go.

Apple need to realise it's not 1995 any more.
