Scientists will always find their way around problems that's why they're scientists.

Sure, maybe the way we think of CPUs right now might hit a 'speed limit' someday, but couldn't we just get bigger at that point? I guess theoretically a CPU would get so large that the time it would take to send the desired result would exceed that of the other "cores" finding that result on their own. Anyway..../story

So the electrons move at the speed of light. When do they 'surpass' it?

Exactly - You can be limited by light speed but light doesn't take much space. So there canbe millions of light rays in a small space.

I wonder how quantum computing could weigh in on this. I'v spoken to a few physicist's about quantum entanglement and since it is not bound by the laws of physics, instant unlimited data transfer over any distance is theoretically possible. So I wonder if instant data transmission within a computer could make the speed of light irrelevent.

70 to 80 years?
You really think that by then we'll still be restricted by these "unsurmountable limits"? Don't make me laugh.
