If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say these two coolers are made by the same OEM. (PCCOOLER)
They are.

IMO looks like a TRUE ripoff.

I'd still get one.

this cooler should do extremely well..seeing as it got 5 pipes..hdt..and the surface area is much larger/thicker than that of the xiggy 1283.

I don't think their conclusion of the "x" design is correct. If anything, the heatpipes impede airflow, and would reduce cooling potential in this setup. What I think the 'x' does do is aid in conduction, being spaced out, the pipes can all transfer heat to different areas of the fins, as opposed to conducting from the edges.

Yes, exactly. I still don't know why anyone trusts FrostyTech's reviews... which is why I can't wait for the results from a respectable site. It looks like a fantastic cooler.

I'll wait for more reviews, and UK availability... and if it still looks good, think about buying one.

Nice cooler, that sure took sometime for Frostytech to publish. I'd like to buy one to replace my CCF..but availability in UK/EU = 0! surprisingly I found the a similar cooler but with a different name @ OcUK -"Alpenföhn Nordwand" try check it out..

What bugs me about Frostytech is they use synthetic tests. Strap that thing to a 4Ghz Pentium D 805 and see what happens! Forget this testing lab BS.

I know they state that but it looks to me like it's removable from the pictues here, all I see is two screws holding it, or have I misunderstood?
