Default [bsn] AMD set to increase Radeon HD 5800 prices?

Quote:
AMD set to increase Radeon HD 5800 prices?

Ever before AMD launched its Evergreen series, we knew the allocation numbers for ATI 4800 and 5000 series - and the numbers didn't look good. If the recent rumors about AMD laying off more staff in 1Q 2010 come true, we cannot view them as anything else but a failure to supply enough products to market.

Marvin the paranoid android or simply - the codename for ATI Radeon HD 5870In case you didn't knew, codenames for all 5000 series boards werenamed after characters in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Theunfortunate part about this is that Radeon HD 5870 carried the name"Marvin" and the worldwide availability is definitely starting to looklike something Marvin would comment.

Call speculating bs on this article, but you can decide.

BSN = Bull**** Network.

The price increase has to do with supply and demand on the retail front. AMD isn't charging more, the retailers/AIBs are.

Where the heck are you Fermi!?

We need some freaking competition in here. Regardless of whether ATI/AMD or the re/e-tailers and AIB partners are doing it, there needs to be a competing product.

You already have crossfired 5870s. Why worry about anything?
