x264 can be as fast as Badaboom and still be better quality
I've said that countless times. x264 can be configured, you know.

I use it on Windows 7 64bit perfectly fine
But anyways on ATi Avivo converter, it barely uses the video card, only a little bit. It was using my quad 50-65% usage when converting

for smaller files yes. but for HD video, no; thats where the GPU encoding leaves CPU encoding in the dust.

So is this the best video converter to take advantage of all of my cores and my 4850x2? The one posted in the review? I posted a thread about this, but this is another good place to ask my question.

from what i've read yea. Nero is going to be supporting ATi's CTM/BrookGPU system later, right now they only support CUDA. I think they're waiting until ATi releases the Stream 2.0 w/ OpenCL SDK; that should really beef up ATi's performance. Their current stream SDK is several years old.

So? Why should resolution matter? It's still a problem of the programming, not the parallel hardware.
