1080p mpeg-4 encode goes from 249 seconds to 68 seconds w/ CUDA on an i7.
1080p mpeg-4 encode goes from 463 seconds to 148 seconds w/ CUDA on a Core2 E8400.
because it has way more throughput, it's not fully utilized until the higher resolutions though. it's encoding the entire file but linearly, if the file is small then most of the GPU power isnt even being utilized.
p.s. ATi's results should increase big time when Stream 2.0 comes out. Stream 1 is really using code written by stanford almost 5 years ago.
