Where is this? I don't see this on the market. There isn't a GT300 on NewEgg saying "pre-order me now".
Nvidia just makes the chips, the actual cards are made else where. That is the orders they are getting.

and Quadro cards are way overpriced, what do they even do?
If you don't know what they do, how do you know they are over priced?

Claiming Quadro/Firestorm cards are overpriced is a moot point; its just they way things are with the support and everything you get.

I can't wait for Fermi to be released, the GTX 285's have been hugely cut back, and are getting hard to find. This current product transition definitely hasn't gone terribly smooth; Newegg has 5 285's, and only 1 is in stock, while EVGA them selves have ~20 GT200 card models, and only 3 (GTX295's actually) are in stock.

THe one thing that comes to mind when I read these articles. What are all the green fanboys gonna do. As of right now ATI is on top, and looking to stay there for the next few months, plus the lead they already have had for the past month. ATI can use physics, eye-finity, and who knows what they will pull out their butt. Of course it is all just a matter of time, before Nvidia bounces back but then again ATI will as well.

I guess I just love to be able to ridicule the fanboys when ever I get a chance.

I assume they did what ever the ATI guys did when the 8800GTX was released till the 2900 was released. Or AMD guys when Conroe was released, or the Intel folks when AMD had their Clawhammers out (Ok that last one just sounds so freaking awesome; why can't companies name things like that any more?).

Yea Nvidia are surely between a rock and a hard place at the moment, they need to get their cards out the door quick.
BUT I have not been amazed by ATI's cards and I am disappointed that they have not updated their drivers yet.
I think this should be the first priority, not releasing new cards.
2x285s out muscle two 5870s in crysis which is unacceptable. I know it is a Nvidia game, but these next gen cards should be showing next gen performance.
It being the only game that probably will not run at 100fps you think they would work on it. Why buy a card that will max out games which were max out last gen and does not run any better the only game which should benefit from the extra grunt.

Poor show ATI, Forget the 5970, work on your god dam drivers first. If they did this initially I would own a HD5870 or two.

I know we use Quadro cards in our desktops at work (I'm a stock trader and tend to use a lot of displays)

Very true.

That was always the sad part about ATI; it always seems their cards are extremely driver sensitive.

I wonder how long it will be till we get to see an X2 card (ATI or Nvidia) with a hydra chip instead of a bridge chip, I have my fingers crossed that it is this generation of cards (with the second revisions of their x2 cards).

I'm sure if there was some sort of "optimization" left to enable good crossfire scaling in Crysis, ATI would have already implemented it. It's been out for a while. I don't think it ever will. Crysis 2, maybe...

Its really annoying. I am sure they could if they tried, them cards should comfortably beat 285s, never mind not do as good.

First Hydra needs to prove itself. It just got delayed AGAIN to Q1 2010. An X2 card with a Hydra chip that offers 100% scaling would be something worth getting. But the way things are looking now Hydra seems to be off to a bad start.

I had my doubts when Lucid were questioned on performance and they stated it to be "competitive" to crossfire & sli.

That is a far cry from the 100% scaling touted a week or two earlier.
