Default [FUD]Fermi GF100 to launch until early December

Quote:
If not in very late November

Fermi, Nvidia's GF100 40nm DirectX 11 chip is selling great even though Nvidia still has to officially launch it. Sources confirmed that Nvidia is taking pre-orders like there is no tomorrow, but at this time Nvidia offers no guarantees when the chip will hit the market. Everyone expects shortages due to heavy demand from day one.

The original schedule of late November might skip in the first week(s) of December, but from what we learned over the last few days, it was always late November to first days of December.
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16185/34/

Ok, so it is STILL on schedule apparently. Server market will take priority. So essentially you probably will not be able to get one until 2010 anyway. No mention on price point

If the server market is the priority, you're looking at Quadro cards. So prices in the mid/high four digit range.

Small quantities combined with high demand naturally equals shortages. FUD seems to be 45% guesswork, 45% unconfirmable rumour and 10% statement of the totally obvious, as per usual.

Wow, whoever writes these articles is near-illiterate and ignorant. Sentence structure, much?

Where is this? I don't see this on the market. There isn't a GT300 on NewEgg saying "pre-order me now".

Performance wise, once again we can confirm that multiple sources strongly believe that a single core Fermi will end up significantly faster than ATI’s single core Radeon 5870.
Yeah, but NVIDIA has always priced their GPUs higher than ATi's - you can still see that with the GT200/4800 series pricing on NewEgg. Even then, who knows that it will be better unless benchmarks are released? There is no absolute proof.

I predict the GT300 will outperform ATI, but will be way overpriced (>$400).

Yea I would agree with this. The guy is a muppet. Hopefully they actually spoke to someone and not just talking trash.

They are not overpriced considering what they do. The demand is a smaller market.

It is a professional workstation graphic card. Cad Cam or Topo for map making. Medical image ie an MRI. They don't game well. They fold like crazy. Huge bandwidth, and they are fast...

They are pre-built OEM's mobile only.

GeForce GTS 240 100 SeriesGeForce GTS 150 GeForce GT 130
GeForce GT 120
GeForce G100

These are all 40nm processors. Look on the bottom. Upcoming desk top GPU's won't be called gt300's.

There dropping the GT.

Eh? So what is fermi going to be called?

GTX300? And if what I hear is correct fermi is going to be very expensive and made for servers. I can't see nVidia giving up the gaming market that easily because if they make cards for servers and not for gaming rigs as found on OCN then ATI are just stealing the market straight from them surely?

Just my opinion.

Holy crap what the hell is wrong with you people! Never ever ever use the word "Fermi" like that! By like that I mean with the word "launch".

I have a custom Built project for on eof my larger customers that we are planning to use the Fermi card on. but none of us have pricing or anything yet =/

Server will be built by Systemax, they will be pulling the parts in, and I am thoroughly Jealous that my friend there gets to test the platforms with that card -.-

As Soon as I have a sku though I will give some details =)~
