The AMD exec knows better and this is just propaganda to feed to its fanboys. Tesla is threatening to replace AMD as the most cost effective alternative to expensive Intel based super computers for certain applications.

I agree this is true judging by the recent thing I heard from the CEO of Nvidia, He stated that that the workstation market made more money therefor being a priority over the gaming market

Anand has said that Fermi makes concessions that hurts gaming performance but helps gpgpu performance. I wonder what actual ingame performance will be like.

There is some truth in it, but unlike ATI, Nvidia were not bought out by a larger company from a different sector, therefore they need to branch out into other sectors to survive and grow. It's called a business plan people!

i think nV is trying to change the way graphics are handled, moving to raytracing. but the problem is there will be growing pains, and as we've already seen from the demos it can do raytracing but it's still slow (non-functional for games in any real capacity).

it may be a good strategy in the long term and it might pay off a couple generations down the road, but it might also hinder the efficiency of the current way games work.

this is all total speculation though, just thinking out loud on what they've said. will have to wait until the card actually comes out before we know for sure.

More like marketing. When your opponents product hasn't come out yet, try to convince those that are still waiting to switch to your product. You have to do this from all angles.

And 003, didn't mean to rep you. I meant to report the post but I failed, so congrats you got a free +1! And because I felt like an idiot, I decided against reporting the post.

EDIT to include this:
