I'd wait for more credible sources before believing it.

It's easy to get carried away and think all kinds of crazy ideas as to what is going on.

All in all IMO the HD5770 seems to be the most lacking in performance of the new 5000 series.

update drivers will not result in sudden 25% increase in FPS... I don't care lol, 5800 series isn't that much faster than what it is replacing... Not enough to warrant spending so much more money

AMD is trying to pull in customers with far off promises and smear campaigns about the competition. Nice.

Dude.............actually I'm not going to bother.

EDIT

I can't wait to see the result considering that it took 3 x top tier 285's to keep up with ATI cross fired 5870's.
But I wonder how much more performance we can expect out of the 5700 and the 5800 series ?.

Don't fall for it dude.

Anyhoo - I along with everyone else eagerly await what the overall increase will be with the new Catalyst drivers. Only time will tell I suppose.

I have seen drivers improve the performance for my HD 4870. the last few driver updates ive done before and after benchmarks, and i usually gain around 4 FPS each time - with the exception of the 9.8 to 9.9 update.

I knew it from the start.

the card should be saying: "k yo shaders lets go render this stuff"

but its really arguing with the drivers. "yo shaders lets go! come on bro we need you. hell with you I'm using only 1000 this time )
