Actually I have a 5770 arriving tomorrow... that I ordered last night.

Dell and the other OEMs are tying up TSMC with massive orders of GT220s to put in their bad computers and apparently there are new yield problems on TSMC's end (its down to like 40%).

I don't think anyone has been waiting for cards for a month. The only place I know of that will let you preorder is NCIX, and they've already sent a few shipments out to those waiting.

According to Newegg a new shipment of 5850s is due in tomorrow, and you could still find them in stock last week, so its not like they are that elusive.

I would have to share the oponion of Charlie here.

Most other nVidia launches there has been more hype. more leaked information, demos, what ever... This time around there hasn't been much other then them specs that leaked that could have easily been made up by any one. I have never doubted that there would be cards out before Christmas, but there is just about as much info out about the GT300 as there is about the next line up in their roadmap. So I am thinking I am wrong unless nVidia pulls them out the second week of December which really is too late for the holidays

Not like it is a big deal. The HD5870 is basically no longer released as there are none available. It's like they made a couple thousand of them and quit. So the only competition nVidia has is the HD5770 which isn't too much of threat other than its price/performance. (and I'll probably end up buying a pair since it's all you can get)

Or perhaps the GT300 is scrapped and nVidia is going to start only dealing in PhysX licensing and Batman merchandising...OK Charlie, write it up and make it happen
