So is A2 a die revision?

Maybe it is true that gf100 will be very late since we haven't realy seen any benches for the card, and TSMC is having horrible yields again.

Charlie is deffinently biased against nVidia, but he seems to be right as much as any other news articles.

Do we have any proof that gf100 isn't supposed to compete with rv970?

As much as it pains me to admit it, Charlie has been remarkably right so far.

Charlie has found himself one hell of a good rat. I don't like his tactics, but up tell this point he has been right about everything. Terrible yields, new revisions, real release dates, ect. True a lot of this has still to come up yet, but I am inclined to believe this article. And for charlie anyway, this is soft. He stuck to the facts a lot more then usually did, in his typical bias style.

For all the time Nvidia is taking to cook this card up it better be good. Nvidia would lose a whole lot of respect if they released this card and it utterly flopped. I think with such a large die and all the problems they are having with yeilds, price is going to be a major issue. Nvidia said they won't make the same mistake as last time, but with what it is costing them to get these cards out the door, they might just have too.

cool....GT300 should be out right around the time I get my tax return. I'm definately waiting. No point in spending money on an ATI card that may be beaten by NVidia in 3 or 4 months. Plus no point in spending money now or at christmas since there arent any good DX11 games out that I want.

Good luck with Q1 2010 Fermi. Q2 is now more realistic.

Charlie has been right on so far, sucks for Nvidia though.

Anyway I can't wait for December!
If he's right and they don't release by the end of the year...all the great news sites will be forsakened.

Funny thing is, Charlie is not the only one.

Kyle of [H]ocp thinks the same thing and he is probably as good if not better connected with the pc hardware industry. Also since Kyle usually does not go out on a limb and "speculate" on product release dates this makes his claims even more believable.

Even given a best case scenario for NVIDIA, we here at HardOCP.com find it hard to believe that NVIDIA will get any "real" amount of product to market by March of next year. NVIDIA has yet to speak one word to us about the gaming abilities of the Fermi GPU.

Just because nVidia doesn't give an official statement for anything doesn't mean he's right - at all.

And anyone saying that Charlie has been right recently doesn't know what they're talking about.

Charlie said that nVidia were abandoning their mid-end and high-end graphics card line-up
http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/10/...gh-end-market/
Look how right that turned out to be...
Quote:
Word from sources deep in the bowels of 2701 San Tomas Expressway tell us that the OEMs have been notified that the GTX285 is EOL'd, the GTX260 is EOL in November or December depending on a few extraneous issues, and the GTX275 will be EOL'd within 2 weeks. I would expect this to happen around the time ATI launches its Juniper based boards, so before October 22.
What's today's date? Nov. 2nd you say? and the GTX275 is still for sale? and nVidia's partners claim that the gt200 series is still in mass production?
Wow, look at how right charlie has been!

Charlie also said that gt300 yeilds were under 2%
http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/09/...eilds-under-2/
because of a mistranslation by google, it read
"NVIDIA GT300 is an Engineering sample of nine will be completed in January of this year's fastest 12 to begin shipping in January."
http://translate.google.com/translat...ate.google.com
and he decided that that meant that there were only 9 successful chips, which is wrong
the correct title for that article when translated correctly, would have been
"NVIDIA will complete its GT300 engineering sample in September".
All he did was twist the title to make it against nVidia... Which I wouldn't be surprised if he did that again with this article.

The only thing he was right about recently was that the gt300 card shown live was fake, but a lot of other websites published an article on that fact before charlie did.

So I expect this to be more then wrong. I expect nVidia to have their cards out before christmas. They can't afford to have them come out after the holiday season because ATI has been wreaking too much havoc on their high end market.
