Default [HWP] MSI 790XT-G45 Review

In my quest for the best budget bang for my buck I stumbled across this out of stock gem at a few e-tailers.

Translated from Russian...
Quote:
New motherboards MSI amazing low price and high functionality. As many have noticed, MSI after Asus has changed the design of their products and their packaging. Now the box MSI boards have a well-recognizable design, a design fee applies textolite dark, black and blue slots and connectors. Today we have on the table, the representative of the tribe of the budget board from MSI - Model 790XT-G45 based chipset AMD 790X.

No mosfet cooler is a problem for overclocking.

Most likely but with a budget build overclocking is secondary. I wonder if RAM sinks would do the trick since there is no mounting holes for aftermarket cooling?

From what I read, MSI is one of the best in keeping temperatures down although most of what I read is from boards equipped with DrMos.

Another budget board worth considering is a Biostar. I had one and it actually overclocked really well despite not having MOSFET cooling... also considering the fact that I picked it up for pretty much $20 after a newegg combo deal. And it had a Radeon 3300 IGP! As for the board in the OP, I couldn't find it on newegg.

Very nice....i may just use this board to upgrade my secondary rig

Move the 945ES to my secondary and grab a kickass new C3 stepping Phenom II for Ren

Or throw an Athlon II Quadcore into the secondary...or a Sempron 140 for overclocking hotness

It looks decent, but lack of VRM/MOSFET cooling + no CPU-NB Voltage option in the BIOS will make it a poor choice for most.

More so considering the price of the Gigabyte 790X-UD4P & 790XT-UD4P

There is also a DDR3 variant of this board, the 790X-G45. Everything seems the same.
