i think you'll find it's an intel chipset. albeit with gigabyte's way of delivering it power.

It may be Intel's reference design for the chipset, but the layout of the board and their utilization of the chipset has EVERYTHING to do with it.

as above has said, it's the FSB that's amazing. The previous record was somewhere in the 650 range. FSB is quad pumped, stock is 333 = 1333, most people struggle to get 2000 (500 FSB). The only way other than FSB is to bump up the Multiplier.
