The higher ETF makes sense for smart phones. Did anyone know why companies charge such a high fee for this?
Since smart phones (and Blackberries) have to have a data plan attached to the line, they incur higher charges faster than normal lines. This also makes people actually shop for the right device for their needs. With me working for VZW, I see alot of people coming saying "I want a BB Tour" flat out. Then I would ask well what do you like about it? The typical response back is " It's pretty", no joke. So a higher ETF is sorta detracting away the "pretty" sales. I will bet this has something do with the Droid launch tomorrow.

It makes total sense. Why would you not sign up and get a phone for basically $175 and then sell it on Ebay for $400? It would be easy.
I have been a Verizon customer for 10 years. They have a 30 day return policy...so if you are truly unhappy with the phone, return it...no questions asked!

If you signed the contract you better give it... no other option and cribbing later.

I always get out of my contracts, just wait for them to change the Terms and conditions and tell them that you don't agree to the changes and you can cancel

But doesn't the contract you sign state that they have the right to change the terms at will? Or is it a matter of thelaw states that even though you signed to allow them to change it they are required to let you out if you disagree with the changes?

Now by changing some of the terms and conditions it might cause a conflict or even break a set of terms that was present in the original contract, thus they have broken terms set out in the original contract provided by them which means the contract is now different then the one you signed and agreed to.

As has been stated, this makes perfect sense, and all the verizon hate makes no sense to me.
My family just switched over all of our phones to verizon, and they payed us to do it. 2 lg versa's, 2 samsung intensities, a motorala, and one of their internet hub things. We ended up making $60 on our first bill with all the rebates we got and our monthly phone bill has been lowered almost $15 a month and we now get unlimited texting, mms, etc...
