Hot off a terrific quarter, there's high expectations on Apple to post terrific growth. Thus it made many of Apple's investors and fans nervous to see a well-received Windows 7 launch October 22 and potentially knocking down Apple's own new fledgling OS, Snow Leopard.

I know 2 people that have gone to uni and not bought a macbook, that's why.

Also, what the hell is with OSX beating 7. I'd have thought it'd be higher than that.

Win7 has only been out for less than 2 weeks, i doubt it would have had a huge marketshare already. Its still nice to see that pc sales are pummeling mac sales.

I want Apple to grow more. It will lead to the DOJ and EU applying their special brand of butt hurt.

Most stores, especially Best Buys across the country, had NO COMPUTERS TO SELL for the 2 weeks before 7 launched. Of course you'll see a teeny dip in marketshare when someone wants to buy same day and the only thing in stock is Mac.

Just because you're poor doesn't mean you have to complain. I know lot's of people who have Macs and paid for it themselves. Actually most people buy the Mac themselves! What a revelation!

P.S. I paid $1500 for my Black Macbook when I was 17. So don't even say it out of people's price range. When I was 17, I was making that much every 3 weeks. Ahh, the miracles of working ALMOST full time.
