Actually i don't think it is. I have a Iphone 3G with AT&T. I visited NYC just a month ago for my sister's wedding. I stayed in Queens and lower Manhattan during my 1 week stay. I experienced TONS of drop calls. Way more then i usually get in Atlanta.

I moved from Verizon to AT&T 2 years ago due to better coverage. I constantly had calls dropping on Verizon, to date I've not had a single call dropped with AT&T. AT&T has much better service than any other company.

Usually every cell tower in NY is slammed with texts/calls/emails/facebook etc.

AT&T YOU COVERAGE SUCKS hard. You can't get mad just because someone called you out on it. I get no service in some areas by were I live and no I don't live in the middle of nowhere.

Actually Verizon does show the product they're selling in the commercial - nationwide 3G coverage.

AT&T sucks in New York because it's in T-Mobile territory.

Just like how T-Mobile still sucks here on the west coast because it's in AT&T territory.
