Yeah me neither after the countless 4890 complaints I read on here. I am kind of let down to learn that the 5970 is clocked lower than the 5870 being that we were led to believe it's basically a 5870x2.

Is this a way for them to later realease a 5990? No doubt it will still be great but I wonder what the reasoning for this was?

i still don't see a problem with clocking it to 5870 specs and triple slot with two 8pin connectors

if there is a 5990 it will server the same purpose the 4890 had, to hold up against nvidia's 300series.

that being said, don't expect to see a 5990 until maybe a 395 is out.
