This could have all been avoided had the devs taken just a little bit of time to code a DX10 render path. Voila, AA on all machines that support DX10.

There still would have been issues. ATI and Nvidia handle AA differently in DX10. I'm beginning to suspect that's the reason for the whole DX10/10.1 fiasco. Might have ended up with random black screens during cuts scenes like in RE5.

Fermi could possibly be very fast, maybe faster than ATI's offering. The question is if Nvidia can create a card that is price competitive from low-end, mid-end, and mid-upper end. Nvidia's Fermi might be the fastest card out there, but how expensive will it be?

YET. That's the reason I can afford to wait until GT300. There's no DX11 games, and even if some do start coming out, they'd have to be good games that I would buy whether or not they used DX11. I think Nvidia was misquoted. After all, they're releasing their own DX11 card. They just meant it's useless to rush to one of them prematurely.
