This could have all been avoided had the devs taken just a little bit of time to code a DX10 render path. Voila, AA on all machines that support DX10.

There still would have been issues. ATI and Nvidia handle AA differently in DX10. I'm beginning to suspect that's the reason for the whole DX10/10.1 fiasco. Might have ended up with random black screens during cuts scenes like in RE5.

Arguing against the relevance of DX11 is another.

More misinformation and taken out of context. DX11 is a very great thing and we are 100% behind it. Anything that makes the PC gaming experience better is a great thing. This is also why we focus on adding things like PhysX and 3D Vision to PC games. We have already stated that our next generation Fermi-based GeForce GPU will support DirectX 11, along with PhysX and 3D Vision.

Arguing, as NVIDIA did, that AMD working with Codemasters to add DX11 to DiRT2 is harming gamers is another.

Sorry, but that is just spreading misinformation. DX11 is a very great thing and we are 100% behind it.
Nvidia did lie their butts of on these points. They damn sure did say that DX11 was unimportant, they DID say that AMD was hurting gamers by making them wait for Dirt2 just for DX11. How can they turn around and claim they didn't? It's all over the internet, it's sourced, it came from them!

Fermi could possibly be very fast, maybe faster than ATI's offering. The question is if Nvidia can create a card that is price competitive from low-end, mid-end, and mid-upper end. Nvidia's Fermi might be the fastest card out there, but how expensive will it be?

I'll go on record right now saying DX11 isn't relevant.

YET.

That's the reason I can afford to wait until GT300. There's no DX11 games, and even if some do start coming out, they'd have to be good games that I would buy whether or not they used DX11. I think Nvidia was misquoted. After all, they're releasing their own DX11 card. They just meant it's useless to rush to one of them prematurely.

I see your point but developers need the numbers of people jumping onto the DX11 hardware,so it's worthwhile for them to develop games.

Exactly, but people will complain about Nvidia anyways. Talking is free

Then please explain this.

Says McNaughton: "Additionally, the in-game AA option was removed when ATI cards are detected. We were able to confirm this by changing the ids of ATI graphics cards in the Batman demo. By tricking the application, we were able to get in-game AA option where our performance was significantly enhanced." He further adds that the option is not available for the retail game as there is a secure-rom.
