Hmm...interesting. This is much larger than the assassin's creed fiasco.
Oh, and here's another article that also analyzes the entire "fiasco." http://brightsideofnews.com/news/200...-analyzed.aspx I posted this is the ATI forum, but I figure it couldn't hurt to put it here too for further discussion since this topic has been feverishly debated.

Batman Arkham Asylum must be something special... the first instant i saw the commercial i didn't feel any interest, and even after what everyone has said about it, im still not interested.
First all the huge PhysX debate and now this. what else will this game spark?

If everything worked like this then you would only be able to play certain games on certain video cards, and everything would depend on who got to the developer first. If you go to the second page you see AMD tried to talk with Eidos, but eidos said that their lawyers have said nvidia will not allow them to unlock AA on AMD cards. So by your two posts, Whoever gets to a developer first gets to lock out "trivial" (but yet essential to people who want their picture to look nice) options that should be for every card. So how would you like it if AMD started talking with Vivendi (Blizzard), or some other large game company and was like "Hey let's write some code for AA or some feature that comes standard in EVERY other game and lock it to our cards". It is wrong that NVIDIA is locking something as non-innovative as AA to their cards, for stupid reasons like "Hey we got here first."
