Not sure how 'accurate' this article really is, but from what I can tell NVidia has no right to get in the way of this kind of progress. I truly hope Lucid comes out with a great product so we can put proprietary SLI/CF to sleep (permanently).

![]() Anyway, before everyone goes and immediately discredits this, give it a quick read. Specifically these paragraphs. Quote:
They also released no statements about a delay. That just sounds really fishy to me.

Intel helped fund Lucid did they not? If so, then no matter how much Nvidia kicks off they will be dragged kicking and screaming like a child throwing a tantrum in a super market into accepting Lucid Hydra.
EDIT: Just saw it was S|A. I'll go get my magic 8 ball instead. It's more reliable.

I'd like to point out that Charlie has absolutely zero proof that Nvidia is behind this delay. The article is complete speculation and is not dissimilar to tin foil hat conspiracy theorism.

Yes, Charlie hates NVidia, and will be the first to post news that makes them look bad. The fact he hates NVidia so much makes it very hard to take his articles all that seriously. Knowing he is so biased makes one wonder if he could be stretching or fabricating truth. But the point remains, his articles are still correct some of the time. I'll take the article with a pinch of salt, but I'll remain weary of Nvidia as well.

Ok, lets try this again then...
Key points to take from the article: 1. MSI didn't say anything about a board with an NF200 chip. 2. As recently as October 8, Big Bang was a single board. 3. Trinergy, the NF200 board is vaporware, MSI said absolutely nothing about it prior to Oct 29. 4. The pictures of Trinergy appear to be trace for trace identical to the Lucid board Anand previewed, with the exception of the text, which honestly looks photoshopped. 5. Lucid and MSI said there were absolutely no problems, Lucid still says everything is ready to go. So tell me, why would a board that will obviously cut into nVidia's SLI royalties, vanish, only to be suddenly replaced by a board thick with nVidia technology? Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you anti-competitive practices at their finest.

Woah, noticed it looks like the demo board was using an NF200 - unbelievable, what a joke.
What if it really hits the streets with NF200, how anti-climactic would that be? What the heck happened? I mean, as far as I can tell, it is not necessarily implied that it will be NF200 equipped, but this must be considered as a possible outcome, imo, in the worst case scenario. Not that that wouldn't make for an awesome board. (But its no Lucid Hydra) Edit: Nvidia is as big and evil as any number of other big and evil corps, and I accept that, but what else could they use, if Hydra fell through? I know they say there aren't any problems, but unless they have switched to the "honesty is the best policy" policy, from the "pump the share price up as much as possible" policy, I am going to not just take giant faceless companies word on these things. What other chipset should they use, assuming Hydra fell through? (I am not saying Nvidia is not capable of treachery, but that it may not have even been necessary, what choice would MSI have?)

Not really... GT200 EOL was wrong (and if it wasn't, quantities will be available well through 2010), 2% yield was wrong (production engineers released no information)...
