Default [Inpai] AMD RD890、RS880D specs detailed

Quote:
According to Taiwanese vendors source,AMD will release nex-gen mainstream IGP desktop chipset RS880D 、 RD890 EVT northbridge and SB850 southbridge samples next week. DVT is to offer in mid July.It is expected that mass production date is in Nov.Launch date is scheduled for Jan,2010. SB810 may be late and expected to be launched in Apr,2010.It is available in May,2010.

Quote:
AMD SB850 and SB810 will support SATA 3.0,which supports six sets of SATA 6Gb/s interfaces. They will become the first southbridge chip supporting SATA 3.0. In addition, built-in Clock Gen and Giabit Ethernet MAC will further reduce costs.
I seriously cannot wait... kinda got tired of my 790GX over the past 9 month...

Should've been USB3.0

3 way x16 crossfire should've been implemented too. 790FX and 890FX aren't really that much different, are they?

Not the big performance upgrade that I thought it would be. More of a small update if you ask me. I guess that CF comes in at x16 x16 again, CFX triple gets x16,x8,x8 and quad gets all x8.

Still not a huge difference, but I was hoping for at least x16,x16,x8. Nvidia still could be in the chipset buisness if they allow full tri sli support, or at least x16,x16,x8. That would probably take an NF200 that would heat Azerbaijan.

All the pcie x1 slots - yet very few pcie x1 cards. There has to be a better use of mb space than empty pcie x1 slots....

Disappointed tbh. I sure was thinking/hoping they would have put USB 3.0, Sata 6.0gbs or w/e and at least upped the PCIe config to 16x16x8x8.
