Here is an article on it. And yes it seems to use GPU PhysX from what I get from the article.

That article says nothing about the Wii using GPU Physx, most likely PhysX was offered to enable easy cross platform porting.

the NVIDIA PhysX technology SDK (Software Development Kit) is now available to registered Wii developers. What this essentially means is that, although Wii gaming consoles are built on an ATI graphics chip, some of the upcoming gaming applications will be developed to support PhysX.
It does mention. Even though it's built on an ATI graphics chip so that's what I got from it.

All I know that only certain companies have licensed PhysX on the Wii. Is not like everyone is using it. But there is a huge list of PhysX games for consoles already.

PhysX will die when all game developers start to roll their own advanced physics engine or an open source one gets an extreme amount of polish.

Which is to say not any time soon.

Actually I should say Intel has the chance to kill off PhysX with Larrabee/Havok if they decided to offer it completely free.

I take it you've never tried writing one before or doing any kind of physics simulations... It's not easy and the people who can do it well don't work for free and aren't cheap.

this, all physx effects could be done without physx. There is just code in the game to make stuff run awfull without physx.

Nvidia is just damaging the gaming industry piece by piece

You bring up Uncharted 2, what was the development budget behind that game?
Again with the costs. That isn't my point, and never was. Realize that I'm comparing the actual engines.

Its fog, smoke, tiles, water, explosions, particles, gravity, buildings (bricks), etc etc.
What am I stating then? Clearly you don't know.
I don't need to physically break down an engine bit by bit to compare the results of the engine. YOU'RE the one who has no proof.

Im getting tired of seeing you bash Nvidia everywhere you post in an Nvidia section.
This isn't an Nvidia section.
AAAAND
I don't bash Nvidia anywhere. Infact, if you had ANY clue what you were talking about...

So you're not getting tired of anything, you're just over exaggerating and making stuff up at this point.

This thread was meant to show people how physX works and how it can help your game be more realistic and sometimes even more fun. If you don't have something positive or helpful to add to this thread then don't post. I do agree with you in terms of the MW2 dedi problem though.

And I'm saying how physX isn't the only one that can do that and others are out there that do better. Yet, people are treating PhysX like it's the most amazing thing they've seen.

What? No, physX won't die. It's support has increased in games. It's doing the exact opposite.

Actually there was proprietary code that blocked ATI cards, and when altered to read ATI cards as Nvidia the game played identically

Proprietary AA code that Nvidia wrote for the game. Don't forget that part.

Fine. You have me there. I'm not going to sit back and deny it.
But my point still stands, there are other engines like Havoc that can do effects like physX if not better. Even performance wise. If people like Naughty Dog can get Havoc running on a console at 720p natively with a constant 30fps with 2x AA and vsync (which fyi - not alot of devs can do, especially the PS3), then the GPU acceleration isn't anything big unless you're talking PC only. Which again it's exclusive.
