British BAE Systems just received about $42 million to supply the U.S. Army with a lightweight, handheld laser target locator systems powered with GPS. The all weather device will allow soldiers to accurately identify target locations in day time or night, and even in fog and smoke.

The device is actually called a Laser Target Locator Module (LTLM) and can determine target coordinates utilizing direct-view optic system, a night-vision camera, a laser range finder, a digital compass, and a GPS receiver while still weighing less than 5.5 pounds.
