Default Microsoft Subpoenaed in AMD Anti-Trust Case

Microsoft is the latest in the long list of companies subpoenaed by AMD in it's anti-trust case against Intel. AMD alleges that Intel used its size and intimidation to force customers into using Intel only processors. AMD specifically hopes to explore "Microsoft's decision to develop software for AMD's 64-bit CPUs, and the timing and schedule for development of that software," as outlined from the subpoena.

Go go AMD!

AMD is partly to blame. Maybe if the did advertise their product, and explained to the public that AMD Mhz > Intel Mhz people would buy them. Most noob PC buyers just look for raw Mhz, as they know **** all about PC's.

Nothing will change. Just like all the legal stuff that happened to Microsoft a few years back. Intel is to powerful for a lawsuit to even cause a ripple in their space-time.

I would hate for this to have negative side-effects on AMD. I think that AMD being in the ring, keeps Intel honest and more competitive. If Intel was the only real chip maker we'd be hurtin' for the goods.

That is very true. Without AMD, we would still be using 1Ghz PIII's. AMD pushes Intel, Intel pushes AMD. Now if we could just find a rival for microsoft...

They've been competing with Apple a lot lately...realizing how pretty their interface is.

They're also competing with linux/unix for the server market.

Yes, but Microsoft controls the vast majority of OS and Office platforms. Apple and Linux/Unix combined can't even make MS blink. The only reason that MS hasn't done away with Apple is they don't want to be called a monopoly.
