Id be more worried about HARDWARE spying rather than spyware.
Spyware can be detected hardware cant.

That makes total sense to me. They are banned from classified networks, they aren't banned from being imported into the country for personal use. The government has chosen not to buy computers from a certain manufacturer. So what?

The one point I conceed to is that IBMs are made in the same places (although not likely the same factories). However, the difference is if there is a problem of security, IBM could be held liable, and I am sure IBM is kinda watchful in it's factories, whereas with the other systems, there is no recourse.

I see nothing funny here, maybe over zealous, but then, when the security of our weapons and secrets are at stake, I would rather they are over zealous than asleep at the wheel.
