Description: The Lian Li PC-7F elegantly blends style and function in one durable aluminum case, to provide superior cooling for your high-performance components. The case comes with a 140mm front intake fan and a 120mm rear exhaust fan for efficient ventilation. The top I/O panel hosts 2 USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire connector, and audio jacks.

The PC-7F is thoughtfully designed for users who access the interior of their case frequently, with protective plastic casing on interior edges, to keep your hands from getting cut. The case offers space for five external 5.25” drives (one of which can be tuned to 3.5" external drive bay with the included adapter panel), four 3.5” internal drives, and 7 full size expansion slots.

This efficient case has everything you need to build a great gaming system today, and support your expansions for some time to come!

Pros: Lian li, aluminum (light), toolless, fan grommets, sleek, supurb build quality
Cons: Poor airflow, not so great cable space, 5 HDD max (stock)

The 7F and 7FW are identical save the side window on the 7FW. I purchased the window separately so I've tried both.

Build: Overall, this case has been wonderful. I have been extremely impressed with the build quality of the Lian-Li cases and this case is no exception. No sharp edges and extremely light. Installing hardware was easy with some great features. The PSU has a removable mounting plate. It sites on a couple rails that allow it to draw air in for 120mm fan PSU's. The HDD bays are tool less as are the top two ODD bays. There are a few cable clamps that aid in cable management. There are no real hole in the MB tray for cable routing but the tray is small enough it does not hinder it too much. As with any mid-tower, space for the extra cables can be hard to find, especially with the tool less HDD bays. The front panel is easily removable which allows easy access to the fan filter. There are also water cooling holes predrilled with covers. The top panel is nice although they include a firewire port (who uses that anymore) and the USB ports are two close for two wide flash drives to fit at once.

Airflow: The lowest point of the case and the reason I removed a point. The front fan blow directly (and I mean directly) on the HDD bays. With your hand behind the bays, you can't feel any air flow. The rear fan is decent but both fans are very low speed. While this makes the case very silent, air flow is rather poor if you have a decent video card and/or CPU. I replaced the two fans with higher rated fans and added a fan to the extra 5.25" bays. This aided immensely and now the case is perfect. But stock, the airflow is rather poor.

Compatibility: All my gear fit which included a 4870 and Mugen 2 CPU cooler. A longer GPU should fit though it would extend into the 5.25" bays. It is a pretty standard size case so no surprises there.

Conclusion: For my first venture into Lian Li/Aluminum case territory, I have been extremely impressed. The case has amazing build quality and looks very nice. I can happily leave it in my living room and it fits right in. The blue LED fan is not overbearing but can easily be replaced should you chose to do so. I love this case. Feel free to PM me with questions.
