Thought I'd start something fun for the new subforum. It's simple - if financial and environmental (space) constraints were entirely eliminated, what would your audio rig look like? Both speaker and headphone rigs are applicable, and remember, it can be literally anything. Vinyl, monoaural, you name it.

My speaker rig/s would probably be:

#1 - EMM Labs CDSD/CDSA transport + Spectral SDR2000/Modded Assemblage 2.6 or 2.7 DAC + Eddie Current Zana Deux Preamp + beefy, solid state monoblocks with over 300wpc + Magnepan 3.6r speakers.

#2 - EMM Labs CDSD or CDSA/Esoteric CD player (unsure which model) transport + Spectral SDR2000/Modded Assemblage 2.6 or 2.7 DAC + Moth Audio Si2A3H/45 (maybe do some custom stuff)/Audio Note Kageki 2A3 monoblock amplifiers + high efficiency horns or full range speakers (unsure which model).

My headphone rig would probably directly incorporated with the speaker rig, just as it is now. I would have a headphone out from either the preamp or the power amp, making the entire rig flexible for both forms of playback.

I would have the same setup as The_Rocker but with Soloz IC's and A subwoofer from Blue Sky, not sure what model. I would also have a denon CD/DVD Audio player, not sure which model.

i dream one day to own a high end electrostatic rig.. eather sennhiser orpheous or the stax omega II... best i will probobly get is demo'ing the stax at a meet if i ever get to one.

but a more realistic rig would be.

roksan radius 5 > grado master cartrage > emline stealth II preamp > rudistor rp7c > full silver recabled proline 2500's and silver interconects between each. i think this would be my be all analouge rig for me.

a digital rig would be similar. instead of the turntable and cartrage perhaps a good dac or a scad player.... i dont know much on the sources.

but as it stands now xonar dx/6th gen 80gb ipod with quables performance sereies LOD> soon to be here little dot micro + > soloz audio canare recabled proline 2500's by the end of the week this rig should be solid.

I'd want me some Dynaudio's with some Mcintosh gear. I wouldn't be able to stop looking at those sexy dials on the amps. As for source, I don't know too much about that stuff and I really haven't heard enough speakers to be completely positive that I'd choose dynaudio. I have heard some of the larger confidence speakers and I loved the way the sounded.

as many Focal Utopia Be N°7 3-ways with beryllium tweeters I can fit in custom towers and something like my JL 13.5W7 with tactile 'low frequency' transducers under every seat.

or maybe something like these focal grande utopia Be's

Or for a more reasonable price and a better/classier look the Xtant xc650 drivers with real wood cones and Xtant subs with real leather dust caps.

All in custom enclosures.

no available dealers for focal's or xtant's new lines.

EDIT: link to beryllium tweeter info

hrmmmm lol, limitless cash and space... well I'd want a nice home theatre setup...

something like
AV123 Rocket RS1000 for fronts, with Dual RSC200s on top and bottom.

RS 850s for rears and surrounds

with dual Rocket UFW-10s (with the 500W amp upgrades) for bass. so all in all a tight 7.2 system

power the towers with: 3x Rotel RB-981 and a nice receiver (don't know which yet) but I think that'd be awesome

With no limits on cash? I would go for;

Plinius M8 Pre-amp and Plinius P10 power amp

Chord Red Standard CD Player

Speakers are a hard choice; I've not heard many really high end floor standers, but I've read great things about the Wilson Benesch floorstanders.

For the sub I'd go for an SVS PC13-Ultra

We can all dream though right?

-Passive I/V, using silver wire transformers
-Nelson Pass B1 Buffer
-Audio Consulting "Silver Rock" transformer volume control

wait wait wait, so you're laughing at the guy who uses a fatality headset, yet you're using Bose speakers in your "dream" rig? to most of us, you're having a nightmare...
