Default HD 205 replacement somewhere in the audiophile range

I have a set of HD 205 senn's and I am looking to upgrade. I thought my headphones were decent until I listened to a pair of HD 600's........ Wow... I can only imagine what a set of 650's or even 800's sound like... I bet if you put a pair on, your ears start to leak with sex juice from the orgasm that your brain is having. I wanna upgrade but I am not looking to drop more than $150ish (maybe a little bit more if the 555's are worth it). How are the 515's compared to the 555's... I have looked at the technical specs so I am not looking for that type of information. I am looking for opinions from other audiophiles who have used the 515's or 555's... I listen to pretty much everything in FLAC (My collection extends over 8,000 songs... Was 13,000 till my idiot of a roomate decided to try and load his iPod using my f'ing music and deleted 5,000 songs! ). I listen to rap some so I need something with a good amount of bass but not too much bass because I listen to a ton of older stuff like Floyd, Zeppelin, Bowie, Beatles, Stones, The Who, Vaughan, ya know... The good stuff.

So wadda ya think? 515's or 555's?

You shouldn't limit yourself to only Sennheiser...

So you listen to rap and older rock? any other genres?
Do you need open or closed?
Portable?
What's your primary source? Computer, ipod, etc...

Good point, I didn't include much info... My primary source in my PC. I use the ipod as my media library in the car in ma stang and it pretty much never leaves it. As for open or closed, I am not much of an audio afficionado so I am not sure... I would like something quiet I know that... I gots room-mates. And yeah, I don't wanna limit myself to senns, just that I know they are a good brand. They don't need to be portable, they will only be used for listening to music or gameplay sounds. I listen to classical, rap, classic rock, lil bit of techno... I mean really I listen to it all but mostly classic rock and rap. Again, budget is $150ish.

I've looked at all the old $150 favourites and read up for you and really, these are the best for all-round listening for closed headphones.

From what I've read, some used HD580 should do well for those genres (except rock IIRC), but they need to be amped...
A review I read said they have a warm sound with sluggish hard hitting bass. (something like that)

I can't think of anything good for both rap and classical that doesn't need to be amped, maybe the ones chinesekiwi suggested.

Well i would be willing to get an amp for it. Any decent soundcards with built in amps that are worth it?
